ダンスカンパニーco 山田うん の紙をテーマにした三部作「EN」「TEN」に続く「遠地点」の舞台美術を
セットデザイナーの南志保と担当させていただきました。
山田うん率いる12名のダンサーが「紙」という滑りやすく、傷つきやすく、繊細で儚い素材の上で新たな表現に挑んでいます。
前作を含めて数ヶ月間、私たちも一緒に挑戦を続けてきました。
物語の通底にあるのは小説 "紙の民"
地上に住む民たちが土星に戦いを挑む奇想天外な物語が、三部作の最終章「遠地点」を揺さぶりました。

I was honored to collaborate with Yamada Un on the stage design for Enchiten,
the third installment in Co. Yamada Un's trilogy themed around paper, following EN and TEN.
Together with set designer Shiho Minami, we crafted the stage design for this production.
Led by Yamada Un, 12 dancers take on the challenge of performing on the fragile, slippery,
and delicate surface of paper-a material that is as ephemeral as it is vulnerable.
Over the course of several months, we worked together, continuously taking on challenges in preparation for this production.
The underlying narrative draws inspiration from the novel The Paper People, a fantastical tale of a civilization on Earth waging war against Saturn.
This outlandish story adds layers of mystery,
making the final chapter of the trilogy, Enchiten, even more enigmatic.trilogy, Enchiten, even more enigmatic.
